Disable keyless headlight!!

Hello everyone, Im puzzled on how to disable the keyless remote headlight function(when you unlock the car headlights come on) on a 2008 Magnum. I read the manual and it only gives info on disabling on a Magnum equipped with EVIC. Does anyone have info on how to disable this feature?? I have HIDs and this function is going to shorting the life on the bulbs. THANKS!

You should be able to program it from your key, double check the manual

Here we go-try this.....

this is a list of a few things you can do with the FOB you dont need EVIC:

To turn off/on "Flash Lights On Lock/Unlock":
1. Press the UNLOCK button for 4 to 10 seconds.
2. While the UNLOCK button is pressed, (after 4 seconds) press the LOCK button. Release both buttons.

The "Flash Lights On Lock/Unlock" feature can be reactivated by repeating this procedure.


To turn off/on "Remote Unlock Driver's Door 1st":
1. Press the LOCK button for 4 to 10 seconds.
2. While the LOCK button is pressed, (after 4 seconds) press the UNLOCK button. Release both buttons.

The "Remote Unlock Driver's Door 1st" can be reactivated by repeating this procedure.


To turn off/on "Sound Horn On Lock":
1. Press the LOCK button for 4 to 10 seconds.
2. While the LOCK button is pressed, (after 4 seconds) press the PANIC button. Release both buttons.

The "Sound Horn On Lock" feature can be reactivated by repeating this procedure.

I tried this last procedure using the UNLOCK button and PANIC button together. It didn't seem to do anything. If anyone else finds that it changes something please let the Forum know.


Automatic Door Locks at 15mph:


For vehicles not equipped with the EVIC, the Automatic Door Locks can be enabled or disabled by performing the following procedure:

1. Close all doors and place the key in the ignition.
2. Cycle the ignition switch between LOCK and ON and back to LOCK 4 times ending in the LOCK position.
3. Depress the power door lock switch to lock the doors.
4. A single chime will indicate the completion of the programming.

Automatic Unlock:

1. Close all doors and place the key in the ignition.
2. Cycle the ignition switch between LOCK and ON and back to LOCK 4 times ending in the LOCK position.
3. Depress the power door unlock switch to lock the doors.
4. A single chime will indicate the completion of the programming.

Juzt tried this and it workz only for the turn sigz to turn off or on when locking and unlocking!!!!!

only if you have evic, at least that is what my manual says

Turn Headlights On with Remote Key Unlock
This feature activates the headlights for up to 90 seconds
when the doors are unlocked with the transmitter. The
time for this feature is programmable on vehicles
equipped with the Electronic Vehicle Information Center
(EVIC). For details, refer to “Turn Headlights On with
Remote Key Unlock,” under “Personal Settings (Customer
Programmable Features),” under “Electronic Vehicle
Information Center (EVIC)” in Section 4 of this
manual.

kadaf - w/o evic, I don't think there's a way (that I know of). I've wanted to do this as well and I think it'll involve geting hooked up to a starscan to get the option altered.
