Tinted of Fogged?
Its now legal to have our windows tinted at %35 all around. For this I am going to get the fronts tinted to match the backs.. or perhaps get the backs darker.
My question is: are the rear windows tinted or fogged from the factory? If they are tinted I want to make sure the tint place removes the old tint.

No they are not tinted.They come factory smoked!The back windows are 20% so to match them you would have to get 20% but thats not legal.Soooooo......you only choice is to stick with 50% and be ok or test your luck and add 35%
HOW DARK CAN WINDOW TINT BE IN ILLINOIS?
Darkness of tint is measured by Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%). In Illinois, this percentage refers to percentage of visible light allowed in through the combination of film and the window.
Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 6 inches of the windshield.
Front Side Windows Must allow more than 35% of light in.
Back Side Windows Must allow more than 35% of light in.
Rear Window Must allow more than 35% of light in.
More Legal Combinations 1. 30-35% in the rear/up to 50% front
2. If you have below 30% tint in the rear, you cannot have front tint.
3. If you have an MPV, which include but are not limited to, SUVs, Station Wagons, minivans, Toasters, etc., and said MPV has factory installed privacy glass (smoked), you are allowed to have up to 50% tint in front.

man...that sucks....with my factory 20% smoked back windows, i had the whole car wrapped in 20% so it brought the backs down to around 5 or so and of course the fronts are now 20. I love dark dark windows...i would go nutz in a state where not even the backs could be dark. keep in mind that my fronts are still very much illegal along with my eyebrow tint

I have 18% up front to match tha rearz az close az possible n tha top of tha WINDSHIELD tinted az well.....
I am startin to C more n more people wit tintz now-itz crazy!!!!!

arg. I was hoping the back was 35% so I could match.
I guess I will just have to trust my luck and get them matched!
I had limo all the way around on my last car. got pulled over, turned the dome lights on, rolled the windows down and the cop still had his gun out for safety.

It lookz dark cuz of how small R windowz R-but in tha day or in tha sunlight-they even look lighter than tha rearz-itz hard to describe.Now limo tint all around iz a very different story!!!!!

Yea I got limo all around on my mag and love it.....only thing is my pillars now look grey so I gotta get them color matched.

Well IF you can believe this..... Tee and I saw a red magnum locally at a car lot with absolutely NO TINT..... Man, that looked aweful! Wish I had had the camera with me.... Has ANYONE ever seen a mag with NO TINT!!!

^^^ I've seen Mags with no tint. It didn't deserve the name 'Magnum'. It was a station wagon.

yea I've seen some base model SE's with no tint
but those were on rentals

i have limo tint in the back and second darkest up front(illegal here in Cali)
been pulled over for the front, but i put my tint back on
im always looking out for cops and being careful out there at night
