custom license plate cover
I have always thought that space for the back plate was too big on the magnum. I have always seen smoked plexi covering the entire thing, making the entire whole flush with the rest of the fascia. Now, clear lexan would be legal. I don't know of any state cool with the smoked cover over the plate so consider this mod for show if you do it.
![]() I havnt had moola to mod in a while but my man Bob across the street had some smoked plexi he had in his 85 camaro. Suff cut like butter with a jig saw. Make sure ya mask it before cutting it so ya dont scratch it. I began by using poster board and a opencil to get the basic shape. I then traced that on the plexi and cut it big, allowing me to trim to fit. ![]() I knew I wanted t trim the plexi with door trim so I grabbed some before I got started. I decided to use some cheap square tubing to mount the plexi to the fascia. ![]() Turned out quite imperfect bu cool. I didn't take in to count that I have my gate opener button tucked up under that lip for the plate. lol Dadgummit. I had to then cut away some at the top to allow for my hand. ![]() I went ahead and cut around the rear video camera too. I made the cut match to the other side so it wouldnt be lop sided. This cut almost makes this mod not worth it to me but I had come this far so... yours can be all smooth up there. It'll clean things up alot, I think. ![]() This was used plexi with some flaws in it, my cuts are crooked, the trim was too short and had to be spliced and that gap up top is bogus but this is a pretty neat mod. It can be cheap and quick or can be used as a starting point for some creative plasic fabbing back there. get creative. have fun! |

Grinner you are amazing. Just when you think you've seen it all (mod wise), you come up with yet another one that is not only affordable but looks really really sweet.
2 big azz thumbs up. |

I thing it'd look cool to use plastics t shave it completey then actull french in a plate, old school style (or airbrush a plate s detailed a cop wont know the difference)
this is on with velcro so I can take it off when replacing stickers, cleaning or getting a ticket for it. |
