How do you remove emblems?

Hi everyone, I was interested in removing my 3.5L and AWD emblems but had no idea how to do that.

Anyone have any advice? and if I do take them off will there be any body work to be done to cover up holes?

Thanks

shouldn't be any holes, and fishing line used as a saw appears to be the best method of removal. That just use some goo gone or something to remove the left over mounting tape.

No holes on anything but SRTs -- then only on the bumper. Using the fishing line as a "saw" , run behind the emblem and "saw" through the adhesive tape, then rub off the remaining adhesive with goo-gone, acetone, wd-40 or the like. You may also want to heat the emblems first (hair dryer works fine or just strong direct sunlight) if your outside temp is down. The warmer it is the softer the adhesive will be. Probably one of the easiest free mods out there -- make sure you take before and after pics so we can all appreciate your work! You won't believe the difference.

Wow seems pretty simple. Thanks very much guys for your quick response. I'm still toying with the idea. My only problem is I have the chrome/black body side molding running down my car, and i'm not sure how that would look. I definatly don't want to take that off because of all of the horro stories i've heard.

Well If I understand correctly, only a batch of the 05 magnums have the defect. So if you have another year, you should be fine.

Yeah I have an '06 SXT

Do I just use the same method and slowly take it off? That way I would be able to see if there is a paint problem and hopefully be able to put it back on.

yeah, then if you do run into a problem you can get more mounting tape at wal-mart to put it back on (I speak from experience).

Yea you can use the same exact method. The side trim is kind of rubbery so you can kind of pull it back a little to peek in at the paint under it before removing the whole thing.

I just removed one of the emblems, the tape was still stuck on. It's a Pain to get that stuff off. I suppose to make my life easier I should take a hair dryer to it, that should make it come right off right? Any other suggestions??

I couldn't find goo-gone but did pick up some WD-40, which Maddad recommended.

I've got a LONGGGGGGG night ahead of me.
