HIDs with Auto headlights???
Sorry if this has been answered as I'm sure it has but can not find it.
So if I want HIDs lows and fogs, should I not ever use the Auto on feature? I read on one of the HID websites that you shouldn't becuase it will mess with either the ballast or the computer. What do you guys do? Sacrifice the Auto feature if you have it? I like that feature personally, it is classy. lol. Thanks for any help, I really want to get my 10k top and bottom soon. |

Auto on shouldn't mess with HID's. One thing to remember is above all else they are still just light bulbs. Fancy or otherwise. By "Auto on" I'm assuming you plan on removing the headlight switch and "modifying" the switch stop tab, right? If the HID's are installed correctly (capacitors and all) then there should be no problems no matter how you turn them on.
BTW: I would caution you before you decide to go the 10,000K route. I've got 3 sets of HID's: 1-10,000K & 2 6,000K and I can tell you from experience that you are going to get a MUCH better light output using a lower Kelvin temperature, but as is our unwritten philosophy at CustomMagnum's, do what makes YOU happy. |

My Mag already has the Auto on headlights and I don't want to mess with it. I just read on a company's website that the Auto feature for BMWs and Benz's would mess with the computer and the lights would function properly.
And I appreciate your input. This is my daily driver as I have my show car that is fully tricked out. This Magnum I do not want to have any problems caused by aftermarket products as I do with my show car. BUT I still want a blue tint to the lights, what about 8k? I have seen pics of all the lights and I believe 4k is white (stock HID output). How does your 6k look? Thanks very much. |
