Taking off fenders
I've heard taking the fenders off the magnum is no easy task because of a few crazy placed clips and bolts...anyone have any pictures or diagram where all these clips/bolts might be? Your help is greatly appericated!

Here is the best I can do for you, I have no pics to show you sorry. I will try and explain where to find all of the bolts.
1. First open your hood- you will have one bolt in the front (10mm) where the fender meets the engine bay and one in the rear (10mm) near the black plastic cover of your wiper assembly. Should be right in front of your hood hinges. Remove these four bolts. 2. bend down and look at the front wheels, you will see your fender well that has a black plastic shroud, remove three black plastic rivets/pins (3) on each side of the car) at the back side of the fender .If you break them no worries you can get more at Autozone. You do not need to remove the entire wheel well shroud just the three that are fastening your fender to the black shroud. 3.You will want to remove at least one or two of the black plastic pins/rivets in the front of the fender. You just need to be able to lift/move aside the black plastic fender well shroud. You will have one bolt each side that is about a 45% angle of the fender inside the wheel well, this bolt will have to be removed. The bolt will be located behind the black fender well shroud where the top of the fascia (bumper) and the fender line meet. These bolts are 10mm as well (remember one bolt for each side) 4. Remove your headlights- one headlight star shaped head on top of the core support and one in the middle of the light right above the lip where the bumper meets the bottom of the headlight. If you push down hard enough on the area where the bumper meets the bottom opening under the headlight you will see the star shaped screw to be removed. Helpful hint to remove the star shaped screw you will need an extension to reach the bolt to be removed. Once you go back to re-install the headlights use some tape on the extension and the bolt to prevent it from falling into the belly pan area. 5. Once you have removed the headlights you can remove the last two bolts holding the front of the fender on. You will have one on each side to remove. These bolts are 10mm as well. 6. Remove the two bolts (each side) at the rear of the fender (bottom of the fender) . You will have to remove the plastic rocker panel cap by pulling down and away from the car. You will see it seperate from the long rocker panel piece. This piece pops in the clips once you want to install them again. 7. You will have one bolt on the inside of the fender that can be accessed by removing the black dust shield and the plastic trim piece at the front of the fender. Once this is removed you will want to unbolt the support brace that bolts the fender to the and chasis to the car. Once again sorry no pics... the best I could do by memory. Any questions give me a shout... |
