Honeycomb grilles installed, on TZ Hood

A big thanks goes out to my buddy Rob (fellow Space City LX member) for helping me install the grille inserts on my Tommy Z hood today.

For the longest time now, I have wanted to add some grille inserts into the openings of my TZ hood. I just didn't know what I was going to put in the open inlet holes on the hood.

Since I am not using the Charger SRT grille anymore, it won't fit into the grip tuning front fascia opening, on my charger. I was able to rob the honeycomb inserts from the Charger grille and cut them to fit the inlet holes on the TZ hood. That way the honeycomb grilles in the TZ hood would match the honeycomb grilles in the stock Magnum SRT front fascia.

Not everyday you get to see your car with the hood off.

Def. don't get to see your engine bay from this angle, when the hood is on.

I went over to Stealthsrt8's (Rob) house late this afternoon and he helped me take the TZ hood off, so we could drill the holes on the under side of the hood. Plus it was a lot easier to line up the grille inserts and screw the grilles into place, with the hood off.

Once the hood was upside down and off of the car, it made installing the grilles a snap.

Hood still in the garage, not installed.

Hood back on the car.

The hood grilles now match the front fascia grilles.

I see you are in Houston. We are having our monthly meet and greet for www.spacecitylx.com on Feb. 2nd. Come one out and you can see the TZ hood on my Mag. Seeing it in person is much better than pics. Plus there will be lot's of other LX's out there to look at and talk with all the owners.

Thanks for the kind words everybody. I too thinks it gives it a more factory look by matching the inlet intake openings on the hood with the same material as used on the front fascia grille openings.
