Hofudpaurinn is just warmin' up!
What's happening in Iceland

Thought I would give you all a little update on what is going on here in the snow. First I would like to appologize for crappy pictures, most taken with my cell.

But this is what I have done:

LED bulb for the license plate light (more like HID's light)

Activated auto headlights by modifying the knob

here is the knob off, just pull hard enough!!!

And here it is back on, in the auto position

Painted brake calibers
before

After

HID's for the headlights (8000K)

This is how I mounted the ballast on the right side

And on the left side

As you can see, I just pushed the ballast between the boxes, there is no room for it underneath or anywhere else for that matter.

And since I wasn't able to twist the new bulbs into the sockets when installing, I decided to take the headlights off the car (good to know how to if I will get my AAC halo's someday). I just followed the instructions I found here, but there is a little difference for the 2007 model, the bolts for the headlights are 8 mm instead of 10 mm, or you can use torx screwdriver as I did, then there is no way you loose the bolt under the light.

More to come...

OK, right side ballast, my handyman radar is kicking in, is that a gutter strap holding the ballast in? the diamond shaped piece on front of the ballast. If it is, Kudos to you, I keep a stash of them around and use them on all sorts of jobs.

Keep up the great work!

Left side ballast will fry if you keep it there next to the coolant tank, relocate it ASAP IMO.

and where should I put it?? there was no space underneath the airbox and the wiring is not that long... hmm maybe I should just add to the wires and put the ballast somewhere else.... or go and get CAI, from who should I buy??

ps. just got my danko chin spoiler in the mail today
