Has anyone done any modding on their fuel filler door --- besides you bubbamagnum ---- I'm thinking more along the lines of the old style "flip cap" that the Chargers (et al) and the Jags used to have, but not sure about functionality/fitment. Besides those buggers are expensive so let's see what you got or what you're thinking
The only thing that comes to mind on the idea of an type of gas door or gas cap mod is the fact that the gas cap must seal very well or the check engine light would come on because of an evap. code. I know that the flip open caps are very cool but the one on my 67 Barracuda would not seal tight enough to pass the evap test. The gas cap used on the Charger and the Barracuda from 1967-1970 just don't seal enough. I don't know about the Jaguar fuel gas sealing or not. I hope this helps some.

Never seen one up close and in person, wasn't thinking about the seal --- so I suppose that kills this one for now Thanks for the info

Just a thought, didn't the Ram or Dakota have a polished retro looking fuel filler door? It had fake cap bolts around the outside edge, but I believe it was round and it would take considerable amount of doing to add this mod. Probably no help.
Some of us got to talking and feel having the NASCAR style gas door, but with sealed flip door would look extra agrresive on our LX's. The expensive route but doable is to buy a Viper gas door and fabricate it to fit into the fender area where our gas tank doors are. It would be costly but could be done.
