debadging...maybe

So if the weather permits on sat i plan on debadging my sxt. i've kinda skimmed through the threads but not found a definate answer. So does anyone have any advice or suggestions before i start, pretty much once i start i have to finish or risk looking tacky. i've heard stories about the bubbly paint but thought it was only on 05's. I have an 06 SXT. let me know good or bad. I plan on taking off everything including the side moldings.

thanks

josh

Hey jl, you will find some postings on debadging your ride along with other posts with molding removal. TAKE YOUR TIME and don't rush....... I've heard a bunch of stories where everyone is in a hurry and it comes out either bubbled or sloppy! If you have a blow dryer i would heat it up first, some have used fishing line to cut past the 3m tape. That works, there are other means as well. Good luck!!

I also have an 06 but i don't think the year is the issue i also have a friend with an 05 and his came out good lookin. The biggest tip i can give you is don't heat the part you are removing carefully heat the body around it. The warm metal releases the glue and softens the tape and like he said
TAKE YOUR TIME
After i took my molding off i almost ripped the skin off my fingers tryin to remove the leftover tape. Then i picked up a plastic spoon someting soft that wouldn't damage the paint but hard enough to stay firm. Thanks to this i still have skin on my fingers now.

i just remember reading (might of been on lx) that people had trouble with the bubbles on some cars, and they seemed to be 05's. I'll give it a try with the heat and the string. hope all works. TY

I have an 06 SXT as-well and didn't have any issues.
Just buy some double sided tape and if you run into problems re stick them.
