Burn Rubber...Not Ur Soul!
![]() ![]() |
any expertise please chime in...Im a huge fan of this look, and as the older I get the more I get out of the "Bling, Bling" look people tell me, lol especially when I told my car chapter that I wanna go matte they said Im old geezer living in the past, but its not their vision so Im going to go with it if I can get the questions answered right
whats a good round-about price for a good quality Matte finish? do it come in other colors besides black/gray? any special maintenance/care I must do? the origin of this type of paint or mostly seen on? i.e. domestic/foreign cars, muscle/exotic, etc can regular bodyshop do it, or a specialty type shop thanx for your help in advance, if all goes right I may have a new look before summer |

Kameleon Kolors - KF Series
I always liked these colors... its different, but real expensive. I'm not totally sure about the matte paint, and cost, I don't think it would be as much since theres no need to apply a clear coat? |

I'm with you I really like the Matte look. As far as a price I think it would depend on how much you want and who is doing it. I would look for a shop that does a lot of Rat Rods and talk to them. The Matte look is what they do. Good Luck. Can't wait to see the new look

Why not keep you color you have and go with a satin clear coat? Back in the mid to early 90's Jeep had several colors that were a matte finish, you might try an old paint chart from a local dealer!

I think the looks are great! As far as the price, it really won't be any different at all, unless you did it in a cheap way like color primer, but don't go that route unless it's very temporary. The only difference in price will be the cost of the actual paint.
Flat colors, pinstriping, and yer chrome wheels would make it look sic. What color you wanting to go with? Could do something original like flat black with lime green pinstriping. Or a red/white pinstriping if you already have the red of yer car accented in other places. |

hello, i have a friedn that has a 07 tahoe that is matte black with matching rims, he got it to match rod dyderks car on the show rob n big its a nice car but it just looks different!! its like the car is old but its brand new. It only looks good on certain cars. otherwise it looks like a primer. he paid 3500 for his paint jobe but he knew the painter at a local custom shop. He washes it himself by hand and rarely waxes it becasue it counter acts with the matte looke due to the matte not being shiny and the wax is.
