until i can afford some bigger brakes and nicer rotors, i decided to paint my calipers to help make my baby a little nicer. kinda like painting her toenails.
![]() used a really pretty metallic red paint so it looks SO much nicer in person as you can't see the beautiful metallic flecks in the pics. while i was at it, did the bike's too and what a difference it makes. looks awesome on the bike too! here's some before and after pics. ![]() magnum before: ![]() magnum after pics: Dropped Syndicate Photo Album - Dropped Syndicate - Texas Chapter/Magnum brakes painted today Dropped Syndicate Photo Album - Dropped Syndicate - Texas Chapter/Magnum brakes painted today bike before: Dropped Syndicate Photo Album - Dropped Syndicate - Texas Chapter/060107 2210 bike after: Dropped Syndicate Photo Album - Dropped Syndicate - Texas Chapter/RF brakes painted today Dropped Syndicate Photo Album - Dropped Syndicate - Texas Chapter/RF brakes painted today Dropped Syndicate Photo Album - Dropped Syndicate - Texas Chapter/RF brakes painted today i think it turned out pretty nice. not bad for about $30 and was a nice little project for the weekend. ![]() now i just gotta figure out another nice little project for next weekend! ![]() |

that shouldn't be hard at all to do. any paint store can mix ya up a tiny bit for that. they can even put it in a spray can for ya. just be sure to use some good adhesion premoter then do your paint and finish it with some high heat clear. i bet that would look awesome! good luck!

thanks guys! i was quite pleased with the day's efforts.
worth the time and money for sure! but now i'm noticing the bike's filthy wheels now. they stand out even more now that the brakes look good. gotta clean em up and polish that swingarm and exhaust a bit better! lol! ![]() |

1. jack up car & put on stands 2. take off wheels & tape off wheel well to avoid overspray 3. take off bracket and unbolt caliper (do not disconnect caliper) 4. hang caliper on extra jackstand or whatever as well as the brackets (i hung em with a wire coat hanger in the garage) to paint them 5. use good amount of brake cleaner and thouroughly clean brake parts 6. coat with 2 or 3 good coats of adhesion promoter 7. paint a good 3 coats of your choice paint (i used a 2 part metallic) 8. shoot with 3 coats high heat clear & let dry 3 hours 9. put everything back together and marvel in the beauty of your new pretty calipers. ![]() i spent roughtly $30 on paint and supplies from o'reiley's. just used duplicolor spray cans. i used the engine high heat clear. just get some paint rated for at least 500 degrees and your good. ![]() |
