I've seen several mags on here with some really nice looking breaks, and I'm wondering how hard it is to do. Also wondering if you're supposed to use a certain type of paint.

It is a very easy mod, and one worth doing. Just take your time and be sure to make the coats nice and smooth.
There pretty easy. I did the front one day, the back the next. I also recommend taking a file to the casting marks on the sides of the calipers. Doesn't take but a minute and helps a lot with the paint thinning on the ridge.
I just taped every thing off and cleaned the calipers. Then just hit them with high temp engine paint. I didn't like the color of the blue caliper paint.Thats just the way i did them.
I sprayed mine with Dupicolor caliper spray paint (red) and they turned out perfect. 35+K miles and over 8 months and still no chips flakes or scratches. Like with any paint job, its all in the prep!
