![]() They were a few hundred bucks including tax and install. You can pretty much get train horns, or at least quieter air horns, pretty much anywhere nowadays. And yes, you still keep your factory horn too. |

I have'em. Mine actually came with the big ones, but I now have (7) slimmer ones. I have (3) on one side of the rear, and (4) on the other side. Mine are tapped into and run off my AirRide setup.

I have the conductors special hornblasters.com kit. I have a 5 gallon tank with a 400c compressor. The compressor and tank is where everyone puts the air ride (the spare tire well) and the horns are all incorporated up front. I also have a set (2) of semi horns off a peterbuilt I got and they are hooked up to the same set up. The semi horns I replaced for my standard horns and the train horns are on a seperate button in my ash tray.

yuh i got train horns!!! they are sick!! i have quad horns, mounted under my bumper support in the middle of the front of my car. the only thing i dont like is the compressor is behind my system thats behind my backseat so sometime its annoying but it is not that loud. The magnum comes with 2 facotry horns so i just unplugged one of them and wired for the trains. mine cost about 350 for everthing. with a 2 yrs warranty. i love them to death and here always needed for the idiotthat cuts u off or just tryna get peoples attention on the road. if u need anymore info lemme know just email me personally.

The key is to research the sound pressure rating, better known as dB level, and trumpet operating frequencies. If your goal is to mimic a dumptruck etc, then you need at least one or more trumpets rated at less than 300Hz. a train - even lower.
Here is where I ordered mine from: AIR HORNS The model I squeezed into the front of Hemissary is Model 418 "Powerhouse". At 390/435Hz and 120dB, there are "very" few if any electric units (using a motorized air-pump as opposed to an airtank) out there that match these. To increase dB's I wired it directly to the battery (+) thus giving me 13+V. I also utlized the existing OEM relays to operate the airhorn along with one OEM horn (the one that sounded best). The result is that those whom it is aimed at actually jump when I depress the horn button. It is an attention-getter. Units you can buy that require an airtank in most cases will produce higher dB levels at even lower frequencies as a result of a more sustained supply of air at a higher pressure (100+ psi). In which case go to the truck wreckers and remove one from a busted rig. As far as an airtank, as mentioned by another check out air-ride systems. |
