Is there anyone out there that has the shaker Hood scoop on there ride? I am thinking of buying one. How is the install? How long to install? How is it performance wise? I currently have a CAI on my ride now, will this take the place of it? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Well, well, pull up a chair and have a seat...............LOL
I have installed 2 different Shaker Hood Scoops on my Magnum. No, they are not hard to do, but it does take time. You should be able to do it on a weekend, 3 days at the most. Helps to have help, an extra set of hands makes it easier. Some say you can leave the hood on and do it that way, I took off my hood for both installations - only takes 5 minutes to remove it. The first was a CDC Shaker, not bad for the money, it is the least expensive. But it is mainly for looks, doesn't do much to boost power. But it is the easiest to install. Next was the Danko or MoPower Shaker, this is the best way to go for looks and performance. I went with the optional sealed intake system, it makes the engine take in outside air from the scoop. Looks killer and does boost performance....hard to say how much. Bad news is that it is QUIET, you don't hear the roar of air being sucked in, like you do on a CAI. This shaker is the most expensive and takes more time to get everything just right, so it fits and doesn't rub. Most people like the Danko Shaker best............. Some photos of both set ups................. Bob The CDC Shaker............. ![]() ![]() This is the Danko/MoPower Shaker ![]() ![]() |

Boy Bob, the're both NICE. I can see why you like the second one the best... looks like it's gettin' more air! Nice install, by-the-way! I don't know what kind of setup would be good for the Mag SRT8!

The CDC is great for stock fascias. The Danko shaker is really meant for the Danko grille, otherwise that skinny line looks out of place. If youre relying on power from a Shaker setup, then I would look into another mod for actual power. Theres no noticeable gains while driving.
