I was looking for the "in common" point for the 05 side molding bubble issue. For those with the bubbles what colour was your car?
I have an 05 with the magnesium Pearl coat. I would like to gather more on the bubbling issue as this is a mod I would like to due. I wonder if this has to do with a couple of colors or the order of the trim placement after paint, or a lot of tape used to apply the molding. Were all magnums made in the same factory or are there two different factories?
i believe that mine is the same color, I had some bubbles on my frint (driver) fender, and some clear coat peeling on the left side. btw it an '07...
dealer just looked at me and said that they have nothing to do with it...
had to take it to my buddy's bodyshop, they sanded the whole side down to almost bare metal, painted (4 coats), and cleared over (3 coats)... theysparyed it with high quality dupont paint and told me that dodge just used cheap paint...
hope that helps and maybe your dealer is more understanding.
o5 silver se! Driver side has bubbles! A little on passenger side! I'm going to purchase pt woody side panels and paint them to color match! one day get whole car painted two-tone
Silver 05 SXT... don't think it pertains to the color, just them slapping moldings on before the paint curred! yet they won't fix it its been beat to death on lxforums, unless your dealership is awfuly friendly and you got a good warranty... go get some quotes from a paint shop, since you remove the molding they won't cover it from what i gather.
