AAC Halos and Amber strips

Hey all I want to get some of the AAC Halos in Red and the LED Amber strips. Should I get the Black headlights as well or paint mine black or the same color of my Mag or just leave them chrome? Will the lights just look like two red blobs at night if I keep them chrome? And Oh yeah my Mag is Silver Steel Metallic. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Which ever way you go is our personal preference really.
If you're doing the install yourself then painting them will only add to the challenges ahead.
As for them being a big blob, technically no the should not be because you will be blacking out the back sides of the rings to prevent any back lighting issues.

Just remember that red is illegal to have lit while the car is in motion.
This really cuts down on the joy of having them and showing them off to the rest of the world.

I'm checking into my local laws for that is it a law in Cali? I've seen little tuners around my way with red parking lights in the front.

Hey Atrus, as per your PM, I can't find (online) any specific documentation that says what lights are legal or illegal to have on the front of your car.

It doesn't mean that the documentation isn't out there, it just means that I can't find it.

You can always stop several different patrol officers and get their input on your specific state laws. I'm pretty sure that red and or blue on the front will be illegal tho.
I did find one site (it was a forum of sorts) that said blue was legal as long as it didn't flash or strobe. I personally don't believe that tho.

Good luck with your search for those answers. Maybe others will chime in and be able to site specific documentation on these ordanances.

Good grab Brett!

Government speak really cracks me up! They could have just said "Anything brighter than a Bic lighter needs to be white to yellow up front and red out back."

Alright since the Red ones seem to be too much of a hassle I'm just going to get the regular halos. Who knows maybe someday I'll buy another Mag to take mostly to Car shows and then I'll get the red ones but just put them on there own on/off switch.
