Tail light Final Process question.?

After all is said and done. You have laid all the VHT and wetsanded and done clearcoats...

After your LAST clearcoat. Do you just leave it to dry and then buff? Or do you wetsand with 2000 then buff?

I just did mine last week. I allowed the last coat of clear to dry overnight then I wet sanded w/ 2000 grit. What really worked well for me though was using Maguiars "scratchX" polish with a 5" hand buffer after the wet sand.

I was wondering about that myself.. I think i am going to order the VHT this week.. i can't let everyone else's arse be looking good without showing love to mine!@ lol

K... wetsand and then buff it out son.! Ill have to get me some that Scratch X then... thanks all!

I really boofed mine. I was going for a 2 stage tint. I messed up bad when i used paint thinner instead of alcohol to preclean the lense ... OOPS, soooo....

I will have a lil DIY save the ass if all else fails in Tail light tinting. Will be done here by end of day I believe. Woot!

Almost done.... throwing the clear coats on now... just finished coat 3. Gonna wetsand and buff with scratch X in about 2 hours.

don't go crazy on the 2000 wet sand. Just the high spots. You don't want to remove too much of the clear you put on.
If you don't have one yet. Go to kragen, pep boys, etc. Whatever store you got close and try to pick up a 5" hand buffer. Most of them are around $20.00
and they have a built in clutch that wont allow you to burn through the finish. Make sure you get an application pad and a polish (finish) pad. They will come out sweet.
