I removed one of mine today. I have no bubbles, but I do have ghosting. I really don't know how the paint under the moulding is lighter than the paint around it, but that's not the point. I bought my car OCT 04 and it has been exposed to the weather since day one. (regularly waxed with gold class). Is there a way to remove the ghosting, or shoud I just put the moulding back on? I really like the look without. Any Ideas.....
Give it a good wax. You may need to use a orbital buffer as the elbow grease may not be sufficient.
OK- I'm having a problem..I am in process of de-badging and I removed the Dodge emblem but only the "chrome" part came off. I can't seem to remove the black background as easily as the letters and the Ram head, is it attached into the car body itself? I am just going to leave it for now (looks stupid though!) until I know I can do it w/out screwing it up
Hey SM it 's me, I took my badges of yesterday and I had the same problems too, I took my fingernail and some hot soapy water and just kept scraping untill I got it all, it seems like tidious work but I knew no other way either, and then after, I waxed it came out damn good. Hope this helps.
HI BAM!-I just put the ram head back on for now, looks better. But as for you using your fingernail- did'nt that scratch your car, especially it being black??

Good morning SilverMaggie, Acually no because cuzz my nails are the acrylic kind and there not sharp at all, when I first started I thought I would scratch it but nop it was all good and look clean and smooth as black silk LOL.

OK this is an old thread but I need to revive it for moral support! I took off the teeny little sections of side molding on the front fenders to stick some larger (charger) hemi badges there, and no probs whatsoever but the more I look at the rest of the molding the more I want it GONE!! I've removed all other badging as well with no issues or ghosting. But, I'm scared to death that I'm going to find this bubbling problem that some have experienced....and paint or body work just aint in the budget!! I have an early build '05 (built in late 04 I believe) - does this problem effect a certain vintage of mags only? Any help to reassure me would be appreciated 'cause I'm shakin like a Chihuahua!!
Expect bubbles. Mine was built close to the same time and both driver and passenger front doors have terrible bubbles. Bubbles lead to rust so you may want to address the problem now, before it gets worse. My 2 cents

I have an '05 and just (2 weeks ago) removed all of the molding, factory pinstriping and badges - everything. Had no bubbles at all! Pleasantly surprised. The tape under the molding is just double sided tape and it consists of 2 strips only (it is NOT the full width of the molding).
Recommend letting the car sit in the sun for a while - things come off easier when warm and you can "roll" the tape off (I did it at 2 am in the garage and it took some elbow grease to rub all the tape off)
Hair dryer on the pinstriping if it's cool - keep it moving so it won't get too hot. Also, the Dealer sticker was a nightmare - until I used the hair dryer - light heat and it comes right off.
