AAC 578 Interior Light problem
Hey everyone. I bought some of the 3 Chip Red 578 Interior lights from AAC for the overhead console and the lift gate.
Problem is with one of the lift-gate lights is the connection is a little loose and I have the heavy duty struts on, so I need to slam the lift gate to close it, not every time but the odd time one of the lights will go out, So I have to take the cover off and try and establish a decent connection. Then when I put the cover back on it usually goes out again. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to maintain a good connection with these lights? Thanks in advance. Also on one of my console 578s 2 of the 6 LEDs are burnt out, so I've e-mailed justin and a few others, but I received them on friday so I'm sure they haven't been back to work yet. But when these things work, man are they bright and cool. |

I'll give them a call in a bit. I also just realized I put this thread in Exterior and not Interior, my mistake. |

yea the liftgate was a problem at first for me, but I squezzed the clamp that hold the bulb tighter so it can fit snug and I pushed it deep in...
and oh yea make sure you have it in the right way, playing around with it I found out that if its in the wrong way it'll come on for a sec and go back out...if you put it in the right way (not sure if one end is pos or neg) then it will stay on real bright if it looks dim its not on properly |

I just went through this myself.
I took a soldering iron and put a big blob of solder on the contact of the bulbs. I was going to solder them in to be sure and the blob was actually just me tinning the contact, but when I put it in like that it worked fine so I just left it. Alternately, You could wrap some wire around each contact an solder that to it to make it a bigger contact. |

FIXED! I'm way to scared to solder anything in my car so I used a twist tie!!
I took the flexible plastic part of it off (just to be safe) and used the flexible metal to tie the ends of the connection tight and PRESTO! She stays on! Thanks for all of the suggestions |
