Cost of a complete paint job?
So as stated in my intro I do not yet have a magnum but should be getting one soon. I am going pre-owned due to a limited budget and out of the avaliable colors I want black.
I found one 2005 SXT in black for $15699 (CAD) but I have now found a 2005 R/T in silver for $15900 (CAD) . . for the $200 difference it is hard to pass up the HEMI and leather seats etc. Sooo the simple question I have is what am I looking at roughly for a complete and proper paint job, most likley one color but if I am getting it done anyway possibly a two tone scheme? |

In Winnipeg Manitoba a VERY good 2 tone job is about $3600, but thats top of the line. I wouldn't go less then about $2100 in OUR country. I researched this and as we speak the car is in getting it's face lift! An entire car, done properly is about $4500. Thats done PROPERLY! Nothing is gonna be factory once you mess with it so be sure. I would advise saving the pennies and making sure you get that GOOD paint job or you will regret it. That 2005 price, thats high! The Canadian Black book on that is $13,700 retail. That's for a 2005 SXT, high price, meaning lower miles. Whats the mileage on it?

I thought the price seemed high for an 05'. It is a Chrysler dealer I am not sure what you may be able to barter them down to. That one has 69, 537Km They have another 05' in red with half the km on it for the same price, you'd think there would be a difference no?
Anyway what is this "black book" you speak of . . . Even though gas prices are through the roof I wouldn't mind the R/T and with a paint job I can get whatever I want . . . but at 4K I'm not sure. |

It's called the Canadian Black Book. It's a wholesale/retail vehicle guide. It is used by automotive manufactures, dealers, lending institutions, leasing companies and insurers. it's been a resource for over 45 years. It's a way to properly and fairly determine a cars worth. BTW the miles on that car are to high for what they are asking. It should be around 58KMS. There are many reasons why they have priced the 2 cars the same, u just have to figure out what they are. Miles, condition, extras etc. Ask them if they are trade in's or from ADESE. Make it look like you have an insiders knowledge. Many dealers get there cars from ADESE and have zero knowledge of there past. I'm thinking because of the high KMS on them are NOT from ADESE, but could be.

Boy are you in a predicament. I have a black r/t and if I had to sacrifice one or the other i don't know what one I'd choose. My advise is find the car you want. There are a lot of really nice cars on there for smoking deals. Just depends on how far you are willing to travel. Throw me your zip and I'll help you in your hunt.

Personally I would go with the silver just for the fact black shows everything unlike silver
