Greetings all, I am putting together a group buy from Billet Technology for the rear windshield wiper delete wing. There are pics of some they have done below. Keep in mind you don't have to delete your rear windshield wiper to use it, I'm going to just replace the Dodge ram head on the back with it. You can have any design you want put into the insert and it comes in either polished, black, red, yellow, blue, green, or purple. Might be some other colors available as well. If one person buys it alone it is 300 dollars, however I talked to Heidi and she said that if ten people commit they will do it for 149.99 each. When we get 10 people, each will have to call and pay a 10.00 dollar deposit. ETA will be 3 to five weeks from the day committed. If you are interested just post saying that you are in and I will update the thread and add your name to it. If we get more than 10 I will see if we can get the price reduced even more. Thanks guys.
OR...... see if you can get Heidi and the BT gang to apply for supporting vendor status here.
Or sign up as an LXforum member and just buy from there. It's only a mouse click away.
Don't think BT will become a vendor over here, they are a vendor with a few forums and they have been pulling there hair out trying to keeping up with the demand of those forums, don't think they wont one more.
Why is it that we're not allowed non vender Group Buys over here anyway?
Let me reseach and find the past threads regarding this.
It's not necessarily a quick answer.

Here are some quotes from related threads....

Thread closed. Please keep group buys to supporting vendors on the site. Please have BT contact me via PM if they would like to become a supporting vendor.
We currently have 5 supporting vendors, but we are certainly not limited to 5 - any vendor is welcomed and encouraged to become a supporting vendor. It's easy for the vendor to do, and it offers additional protections for our members.
Hemi thats true but I still do not understand how this could possibly cover all the products that members might want to get together to buy as a group. Also not sure how this protects the members.
I recently put a group buy together for a bunch of us and it was simply some thing I did because I was interested in buying one and thought I would share this with anyone that wanted in. I did all the leg work, managed the group buy and followed up to make sure everyone got their stuff. My only motivation was to help my fellow members, I am not a vendor and would have no reason to be a supporting vendor.
I believe this is an example of where the rules don't make sense or benefit the membership. Another example might be if a member wanted to buy a new hood or chin spoiler and there is no sponsor on the site for this product. If they were able to work out a great deal for 6 or 10 members, the new rules would mean this could not be made available to other members. I just don't see how that benefits our members.
Hemi, I have owned a rather large non-car related forum for the last 8 years so I understand more than most the work and effort that goes into some thing like this. I also know what it means to fund this on your own dime and that sponsorship is very important.
I am honestly not trying to be confrontational, the only reason I am bring up these points is to remind everyone that its all about the Members first. More members means more sponsors and I would hate to see you diminish one of the potential ways to grow your membership.
Thanks for all of your hard work. It is appreciated.

Like stated before, its not difficult for a business to become a supporting vendor, and good business sense says that it's smart marketing. These rules are not in place to cause any issues with members or vendors, but rather to protect our members. Not saying that a well managed GB wouldn't benefit some members, but that a poorly managed GB may result in some members getting ripped off.
If I remember right, it has to do with added security for the members in buying from a trustworthy vendor. Not that BT isn't.
In our case over here, it is not BT that is offering the Group Buy here. Officially it is Scojax.
BT is a proven trusted vendor but they do not hold the supporting vendor status.
I believe it's because supporting vendors are paying the forum to be a supporting vendor. Vendors have a captive audience in these forums so the forums charge them to offer there goods and services to us. Allowing another company to do a GB without being a supporting vendor is not far to the other supporting vendors.
