Advice on Headlights - Which way to go?

I'm looking for some advice on what to do with my headlights. Obviously, the Ebay halos i purchased are crap and pretty soon i will be installing my stock black headlights.

My dilemma, should i go with HID kits and add them to the stock lights? Or, as many others have done, ship the stock lights with cash to get the halos installed?

Either way, I wont go through Ebay for headlights unless somebody strongly recommends a product.

your advice and time are appreciated, thanks fellas.

- Omar

IMHO if you want a killer look then go with the AAC Halos, if you want performance I would go with HIDs on the stock headlights which are much more brighter...

Yeah if you're looking for something amazing no matter what the cost, go with the AAC.

If you buy Ebay just take the time when you get them to re-seal them and ensure all of the connections (LEDs, if you have them) are secured and you should be good.

I did both...I went with the projectors from ebay and honestly had no issues with them....I had them for about 6 months and I decided to send my stock silver headlights out to AAC to have them sprayed black and have the blue halos installed. The halos are the way to go if you want something to really set off your car. everytime I drive at night I flip them on and people are practically breaking their necks to see when I go by. Plus I have my HIDs in my stock lights too so I have the best of both worlds.

Remember(!): HID light output (luminosity) actually goes down the higher the (Kalvin) temperature;

In other words...what our eyes can utilize to see farther hovers around 3500K. Anything higher is not only emanating less light, but the human eye can not even utilize the higher frequency (wavelength).

So, if you are going for looks, like more white or even worse blue/white, purple/white...the bulbs are actually emanating less light than an OEM halogen.

Finally, putting HID's into the OEM reflector-type housing is inappropriate. An optical-type lens is required to address proper distribution and more importantly refraction. It is the refractory nature that will have oncoming (and pissed off) drivers constantly nailing you with their hi-beams...

I'd say go with AAC but think about installing them yourself you'll save $200 plus shipping costs to and from, unless you break the headlight. I'm starting the install of my 10000K halos this tuesday. I finally have two days off that I can put Kira up on some ramps and take out the headlights and remove the air silencer
