Moldings Removed... wait a minute. what's that?!?
So I've had my '05 RT for 2 weeks now, and of course I've already started the mods (silencer removed, auto headlights completed, noESP is ordered and the Pro Springs are on the way).
This past weekend, I finally had some time to remove the moldings. I started on the passenger's side and took my time, and saw no bubbles (it is an '05)... SWEET! I got that whole side done, and then all of the driver's side but the driver's door. This is where things went down hill. First I noticed that the end of the molding looked different than the rest of the car. It looked unfinished, as if it had been cut by a pair of scissors. As I looked closer to the door I noticed that the driver's door had a big dent in it! I had not seen this when I bought the car as the molding covered almost all of it. ARGH. I was pissed. There is a small chip in the paint, no worries I already got touch up paint, but the dent looks horrible. I'm going by Dent Wizard today to get an estimate on fixing the dent. I'm pretty pissed, but hey what can you do, but vent to the Forum and go out and drive fast on empty country roads. The worst part of it is that I had already given my moldings away on Cough It Up and now one of the pieces is jacked. It just sucks all the way around. Here's the pics and thanks for letting me rant. |

That sucks about the dent dude, hopefully it's not too bad to repair - but I bet the car looks awesome nekkid! Beans for having the kahones. (is that how you spell kahones?) YOUR BEAN IS GREEN! |

Looked at my door compared to my Neon's, my son's Isuzu truck, and my In-Laws Mitsi SUV... Door strip/molding would have done nothing if their door's would hit mine. So, this weekend, I go Nekkid!
I have an '05 as well... JB |

I went by Dent Wizard today and they quoted me $100 to pound it out with a rubber mallet. Hum.. I've got a mallet. I'm not sure if I'll try it myself or have the "wizard" give it a whirl. Thanks to everyone for posting. I do feel better, I just can't wait for it to be gone. Has anyone ever tried to beat something like this out on their own? Cheers to ya! Burleson |

Sorry about the dent, but nice to hear that there are no bubbles. That gives me hope for when I remove my moldings, however I'm just going to wait until I'm ready to paint her and then remove them just in case.
