crap i could have died...
so i have some liftgate struts installed. The summer heat has changed their compression ratio. so i call the company and they're going to make me new ones free of charge. so i go to take off the ones there and replace them with my stock struts. one of aftermarket ones is being stubborn so i puch on it to get it off the "nipple" on the gate...then BOOOOOOM!!!! it exploded and the oil cylinder shot off like a rocket. oil went everywhere. thankfully it didn't take my face off!!!! got the old struts on. i still dont have a clue where the strut cylinder went.

i didn't hear any impact (landing) noise...i'm guessing it went a few hundred feet in the air and awayyyyyyy!
