stock rims

I have a set of stock rims on my stx, I was just wondering has anyone tried removing the clear coat and polishing the center and outsides of this rim.... If not do you guys thing they would shine up nice?

get a lil elbow grease saved up, u'd hafta sand out all of the lil lines left in it by the casting process

I don't know what your time is worth to you, but I'd bet it would be cheaper to have them chromed than to pay myself to do the polishing... if that makes sense.

Maybe just as cheap but thought it might look cool. I would hate to put paint striper on the clear coat of the rim and not get much more of a shine then there already is
