How can I fix this permanently? (door)
![]() I pulled it up many times with pliers and as soon as I use the window switch it goes down again, any way to fix it permanently without taking off the door panel? I'm sure I can remove the bottom and side clips to get to it from under, but are there screws holding the switch box or is it in there just by pressure with plastic clips?????? if so, how can I secure it good without using crazy glue? |

Yeah, I would pull the whole panel off and maybe try epoxying some newly fabricated
plastic tabs of some sort on there to hold that control panel in place. ![]() Good luck and keep us posted on your repair efforts. Last edited by Hemified; 08-06-2008 at 01:28 AM.. |

I will Saturday morning, when I have my day off I'll look at it from the inside and see how it is and what I can do.
I hope I won't break any clips, I removed them before to see the speaker size and 2 out 6 broke, those clips have to be pushed in at the center 1/3 of an inch or so, then you can pull on the door panel, some clips stick and break. |

I just did my speakers..... don't leave them in the door when you pull the panel off. Push the center in and use something thin that won't scratch and get under the lip and remove them before you pull the panel. The panel will stay on with these out. There are three interior clips that are more of a problem!!! |

I did it, I removed the door panel, which was very easy, a few screws and 3 clips (push in with the key to unlock the pins).
I didn't wanna use glue so I used wire straps to hold it in place, see pics: Door panel was upside down: The way it's supposed to be, but it's holding on the sides by 3 small clips that barely put any pressure, plus one is broken: ![]() The way it was when loose, as seen in post # 1: ![]() I didn't want to use glue, so I put 2 small wire straps on the sides and one big one accross to hold it up tight: ![]() ![]() While I was there I remove the stock 1 way speaker and I'll go to bestbuy tomorrow to get me a pair of 3 way Pionner speakers for the front doors. ![]() |
