ok i received the very first aecarbon 3.5l engine cover
opened up the package and wow! stunning! so shiny! it is show quality just outta the box, the black tooling gel coat looks very good!!! since i got the very first lx cover i was already expecting some fitment issues as for every new product any vendor comes out with, thats expected. installation was very easy. took off the oil cap cover and slid it right over and placed the oil cap right back on. thats all you need to do. as i mentioned about the fitment, there were some issues with the brake lines on the side and the fuse box cover, i will just need to trim it a bit. im guessing each year the car had some minor modifications as moving the brake lines and the fuse box cover a bit closer to the engine from im guesing all lx vehicles. so they will be fixing all of these issues once i send them somce pics on the fitment so that should all be taken care of once im done with mine. i talked to George (aecarbonone) & Ryan (rwalshphoto), what can i say great guys to talk to. great customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they walked me step by step with the issues it had and told me what to do, trimming the edges and moving the cover to fit on the correct place. they even suggested on how to mount my airhammer lol well here are some pics of the cover installed ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() yeah that sticker on the intake has to go, sorry 36 chambers not feeling it lol still cleaning up my engine !!!! if anyone in the so cal area wants to see it in person i will meet you if you'd like. im going to beach burger tomorrow if anyone wants to check it out i will try to get better pics this weekend ![]() |

The hemi engine bays are night and day easier to work with and design for than the 3.5L thats for sure. With a 3.5 you have partially or completely hidden valve covers, an asymmetrical intake plenum, crowded with unorganized peripherals; there is just a ton to hide to clean up the look. Our intention was to hide a lot of that while maintaining the contours of the intake plenum and give people a blank canvas for creativity.
We are pulling one in carbon this weekend and another in the paint booth so you guys can see some color on them ![]() Oh, and... CM vendor status should be coming very shortly just waiting on Steve's reply. |

I'll be interested to see how much more heat it retains in the engine.
Let us know if you see a difference... though I guess it would be hard to tell unless you have real gauges hooked up. Also let us know if you notice more belt squeal due to moisture/condensation being held under the cover. |
