strange noise from the dash lights????

drove the maggie to pick up dinner tonight. I noticed the dash lights had been dimmed a bit, so I turned em up while I was sittin in my drive with no road noise. I noticed as I turned them up a faint noise, sounded like a small electric motor whirring sound, got louder. I played with it some, and its consistent, as long as the headlights are on, as I turn the dimmer switch up and down the noise goes up and down with it. Don't know that it is causing a problem, but whats up??? seems strange to me

Mine was the same way, always got on my nerves a little, but never had any problems arise because of it.

Weird. Could it be that a couple wires are crossed somewhere causing the noise?
