Went with the "little" Hemi (5.7). It's got more than enough power for me as well as better mpg than the SRT, plus I did'nt want to have to answer "no" when asked if it had the hemi in it.

racer11x is just warmin' up!
5.7, Not real please with performance out of the 340hp machine. Seems a little doggie and the shift points seem off. Love the car don't get me wrong but...... Doesn't even seem to want to break the tires loose? Thinking about chips and Trans programers, any suggestions?
Did I do the rite thing?
My 2002 Ram Sport 4x4 Crew Cab Pickup seems to corner better than the 2005 Magnum does! Not kidding!

Race On,
Kelso

Get the superchips, it will help with the shifts. I find it hard to believe the Ram corners better than the Magnum. I would suggest upgrading the sway bars and maybe some lowering springs and it will greatly help the cornering.

I went with the 2.7 myself. I drove all three. The Hemi was sweet and if I was not using the car for work I would have went that route. The 3.5 was sweet as well and I considered it but the price was a little too much. The 2.7 felt as if it had almost as much power as the 3.5 and the gas mileage was something I couldn't turn down. 30 miles to the gallon or a little more is what I like. Also, with the mods I have done to the engine I feel the power has to be almost equal to the 3.5 stock.

I must say that it has been a lot of fun taking the base model 2.7 car and making it totally custom. More and more after market mods are coming out for the 2.7 and I see a super charger or Turbo system in the near future. Nitrous is another option.
