If the o2 sensor is really out or not working then the car might not run as it should. I've had this happen in another car and my MPG were horrible..Sure someone will shed some light on this..Good luck.

Don't unplug the battery just yet.....There's a couple more things you can do to check what your problem might be.....

First go to your fuse box and pull out fuse 11....Leave out for about 15 seconds and then return it to its slot. Start the car and take her out for a few spins around the block...If that doesn't work, here's a few things for you to try and look at.

How to Display Diagnostic Trouble Codes
by Tommy T.

Get in the car, close the door. Perform the following steps fairly quickly (less than 3 seconds) :

Turn key to ON
then back to ACC
then to ON
then back to ACC
then to ON

If there are any stored codes, they will appear immediately, in place of the odometer. For instance an "INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT HIGH" error will set a code of P0113.

Once the codes have been displayed, you'll see "-----". If there are no trouble codes, the dashes will be the first item displayed.

After a few seconds, the display changes to "-dOnE-".

This is the same procedure used on most, if not all, late model DCX vehicles.

Make sure you have pen and paper ready to write down any codes that may show up. Im still looking for the info that deciphers the different OBD II Codes...But this shall get youy started for now.

Without knowing the codes you may be looking in the wrong place. Moe just posted most of the error codes in a seperate post.
Here is the link How to Check for Obd 2 Codes

So I had this issue, and decided that I should have it checked before I spent the money to replace the sensor. All that needed to be done was to have the computer reset. AutoZone did this for me free of charge. The intake sounds great and am now looking to do the stage II JetChip. Anyone out there have this chip for a 3.5?
