hello again everyone, i was at the new dealership im dealing with and was looking at new magnums. they had an r/t for 41,000 cdn, i thought i would maby trade my 05 sxt in and see what i would get, they did there computer thing and came back with a price they would give me for mine.... hold on it might shock you 14,500, call a medic my heart stopped. what is with that, have you ever thought about trading your and what would you get $$$$$$$$. think about or next time your at a dealer ask the question i would live to see some of the prices... jim
My buddy wanted to trade in his RT for an SRT8 and the dealer told him they would give him $17,500 and he bought his from the same dealer 3 months earlier for $22,995... You're better off selling it on your own..as joe pesci said in Lethal Weapon, the F*&K you any way they can!!
I ended up paying $31,000 for my 05 SXT, I went online to check the blue book value and it said $16,000 private buyer, $ 15,00 trade in value! Bulls**t I think, especially since I still owe $26,000. Don't plan to sell it anyways, it's a keeper!!

I guess the book value is something to go by. But then I think of it this way - The true value of the car is what we think it's worth or what someone will give. I'm sure I would sell my car but it would take some cash.
Remember you are looking at the value as it relates to you and the dealer is looking at it as it relates to him, how much can he mark up a trade-in before it becomes too difficult to sell. A good salesman will tell you straight up a modded car no matter how good it looks is a risk for them because the market for THAT modded car and what was added or deleted is reduced to those who really want a car already done.

I hear you strykker, whenever i have trade in a car i removed absolutely everything i put into it except for tints, but, rims, radio, system, alarm anything that was bolted on will be unbolted...When i bought my mag 2 months ago i had to strip down my Jag and sold everything on the side b/c the dealer was giving me the same amount for the car, mods or no mods...!
they tried to give me 2k for my jeep and I told them no way so they gave me 3k and i stripped out anything i wanted...as for my mag it doesnt matter what they say its worth I will never part with it........
