I have a 2006 HEMI Magnum with 2,650 miles on it. When we are out driving at abour 40+ mph and I nail it to pass a car or just to go faster the inside of the car fills with very strong smelling fumes! We start coughing right away and have to open the windows. Whatever it is, it sure takes it's time getting out of the vehicle. It sometimes does it when I hit it at about 60-65 mph. But it doesn't happen every time, but most of the time. Any ideas what it could be? I know if I take it to a dealer without a possible cause, they will say there's nothing wrong. Thanks in advance.
Sounds like what my friend refers to as the "catalytic converter taking a dump". Nice sulfur smell after flooring it. Might be a build up, the flooring it cleans it out. Ours hasn't done it, at least nothing like you described.
There is something definitely wrong, you shouldn't get any fumes inside the car no matter what is going on with the exhaust system...
Get it checked out...

hello i agree you are getting something in the cabin how would you decribe the smell if it is sweet it could be antifreeze maybe from the core ect
I had that same problem with my Impala. It turned out that the exhaust was leaking as it came from the engine and coming in through the front vents. The catalytic converter was clogged and the faster I would drive the worse it would get. I hope that's not what is wrong with your mag cuz it ended up costing me about $950 to fix. good luck
It's not a sweet smell like anti-freeze. It's almost like a strong burnt plastic. Kind of a sharp smell. I stopped at the dealer today to make an apointment for an oil change. I asked them about it and I got the old "That's the first time I ever heard of such a thing". Somewhere around the house I have the website that has all the problems that Chrysler has had with vehicles and has forgot to mention to anyone. I got it at work. I work for Chrysler. We build the 2.7 and the 3.5
As of this time I have not added anything to my magnum. Might save over the winter and do it in the spring, or I should say I WILL do it in the spring. Unless I happen to get a CAI.
