Power Steering leak

Well, I was crawlling around under my car and found a leak. The Power Steering rack is leaking on the right side. My question is, can the seal be replaced, and how tough is it? Not sure if anyone knows, just thought it is best to ask.

It should be covered by your warranty, unless you have already gone over on the mileage...

hello check the price on a dealer rack than check the price on an aftermarket rack i would think that the dealer will sell only a new rack an aftermarket parts store can sell you a rebuilt it will be a hole lot cheaper as far as labor it is really not a bad job a good shop could do it

Well I hit the dealer up and they said "not under warranty..... that will be $675 please." The guy I usually deal with is not there untill monday, so I'll most likely talk to him about it when I go to pick it up (maybe I can twist his arm for at least a little bit off of the bill). Oh well Crit happens some times.

Well I just got off the phone with the dealer..... They are going to cover 1/2 of the repairs. They restored my faith in them and so I will say who it was. If you are ever around Lima, OH and need a car or repairs, go see the guys at Tom Ahl (Tom Ahl New and Used Dodge Chrysler GMC Hyundai Buick|Lima|Findlay|Wapakoneta|Dayton|Troy|Ohio). They are a very good dealer to work with, and in my dealings have had a higher than average moral standard.

I can't wait to pick it up.... I'm going into withdrawl BAD!

It seems pretty rare to find a dealership who's top priority is'nt getting more money out of the customer.
A tip of the cap for them and good for you.

KWIKMIKE is an unknown quantity at this point
My system had a leak at 1100 miles which was from a o-ring in the rack that was not servicable and made the steering shake between 65-80 mph. The dealer relpaced the whole rack.
