Well I'm starting to get back into the 3d modelling, and to start it off I'm going to be doing a Dodge Magnum.
I got this model out of an old game called "L.A. Rush", and have been slowly improving it.
Here's what's complete so far:
Steering Wheel (non-textured)
Gauges (textured)
Other mods seen in pics...but can revert back to stock:
Demould/Debadge
Rear Wiper Delete
Hood Scoop
Shaved Hatch Handle
I'll use this thread for updating as I work on it, and eventually with links to games I import this model into.
When it's done, I could also use it for doing up concepts of mods![]()
What program are you using, solidworks??
Zmodeler. Free 3D Program, $50 to be able to import from games. Has many filters for games like Flatout, Grand Theft Auto, etc.
Thats deep!!
Fate is at the wheel.........enjoy the ride
very nice... i was taught how to model with a program called lightwave 3d... it was such an awesome program...

I've tried using 3ds Max before and don't like it. maybe it's just because I am used to using zmodeler, but it just wasn't nearly as easy to use 3ds max.
I haven't taken any courses on how to do this...anything I know is just from tinkering with the program to find out what does what. I've been making custom cars for racing games on and off for probably close to 7 or 8 years now. Most of them were converted from other games (with the improvements required for putting them into a specific game), but I did do a 1981 Chevy Malibu Pro Street from scratch
here's a pic of what the program looks like (and a preview of the part I'm working on right now for the magnum)

Very cool!! I would like to learn stuff like that.
Dean
yea I'll fine tune it eventually. It would look much better in a game, zmodeler is meant more for the 3d modelling not proper shading, etc. for rendering
made a tire for it
and for those that know a bit about 3d modelling....the rim is 1800 polygons, and the tire is 680
