Alright, later today I am going to compile a list of everybody who is interested and write down as much information as I can about what color everybody is wanting, what parts exactly are going to be done, and get some contact info to keep better connected on everything. Hopefully by the end of the week I will have all the information that I need and I can start getting everybody a shopping list of what all they will need for they're applications; depending on how my Oracle contact goes through...that can definately make things alot easier for all of us!

Obviously, turn around is big on importance for alot of DD people, and I understand that since my Magnum is my DD itself. I'm figuring if I can get people to make sure that the parts get to me by Thursday, I can have them sent back out on Saturday or Monday depending on how many people send they're parts and shipping method...(UPS usually delivers here around noon, USPS usually delivers here around 3PM...so, that is pretty much a large chunk of that Thursday gone, plus I have to be at work at 11PM on Thursdays. Friday, Saturday, and up to Sunday at 11 PM I don't have to work, which is the best time for me to completely focus and bust out everybody's parts. Depending on how well Radglenn's 12V testing equipment works out, I could actually surprised and get everything done pretty quickly considering. But, I'm also not going to burn myself out and alienate my wife spending my entire weekend soldering equipment as well, so if people expect me to be able to get they're stuff done and mailed back to them on the same day I receive it, it's really not going to happen unless it's only a couple of parts, and not the whole entire car.

On the back of the steering wheel are (2) hex head screws that you have to remove...if I remember correctly 8mm. Before you remove them alot of people recommend disconnecting the battery cables and waiting around 15 minutes or so to let the battery discharge so your airbag doesn't have any chance of going off. I did this, closed my hatch, and couldn't get back in without going through my back seats and tearing everything out. So, I said screw it and just kept the battery connected when I did my lights in the end. Anyways, whether or not you choose to do that, it's up to you. Getting back to the steering wheel; after you remove the (2) screws the center airbag section will be released and you can just pull it out and let it rest against the bottom of your wheel with the wires still connected. After that you will need a small flathead screwdriver to pry on the far outside, (furthest from airbag) ends of the steering wheel controls. You need to pry them towards you, but just take it slowly while your doing it, don't try to force them. You will need to get your screwdriver right between the plastic of the controls and the plastic of your steering wheel in order to get anywhere...otherwise you will just be prying against your steering wheel essentially. Once you get the outside clips undone the rest are very easy to undo. When mine came undone both sides had one that didn't break, but cracked...but still works fine, so don't be too scared about that. Once you get that done, you will need to unplug both controls from the steering wheel. Just use the same screwdriver that you popped the controls out with to pop the controls apart to get inside. Each steering wheel control side has (1) SMD light inside; (2) total SMD's which you will have to replace with other SMD's, (there is not enough clearance to use LED's).

Okay, it's been some time since I have given any updates...mainly because I took a little vacation from everything and focused on getting some sleep lol. Yesterday I made a trip to buy some more resistors, (3rd try); and these ones are the correct ones that I needed finally!! (560 Ohm, 1/2w, 5% tolerance) So, I tore my car apart as soon as I got home and started checking things out to see what all I gotta do. I got my ESP/rear wiper switch 99% Completed, I am just fine tuning the angles of the LED's to get maximum effect which is a trial and error method because it seems everytime you clip the plug back together the lights want to shift lol. The headlight switch is becoming both a failure and a triumph at the same time. It has been the best thing that I have gotten done using the resistors, however the light for my foglight button is so deep into everything I have no clue how/if I can even get to it without desoldering one circuit board from the other....which I am not really keen on doing. So, that is on the backburner for now. Moving onto the HVAC, that was by far the biggest headache and challenge I had....between my soldering iron tip being 5 steps in the grave and going on 24 hours of no sleep I couldn't get anything to work for the life of me! Finally crashed and woke up this morning with the realization that everytime I did the HVAC previously with trying just LED's, I always had the circuit board in the back part of the bezel when I plugged it in to test. Sure enough I did that, and everything started working how it should have. So, I desoldered the original bulbs from the board, soldered on my LED's with resistors and after a few trial and errors I got everything lighting up. Put the assembly together plugged it in.....nothing! WTF?! Tore it apart again and decided to tape the circuit board below my resistors and to tape my resistors onto that to keep them from moving and making any contact. Put everything together again, and voila! Everything is lighting up. At this point in time it is about 8AM, and getting too light out to see the full effect. However, from what I saw the light is not transferring through all that greatly...except for the knobs it seems. So, again I pulled everything apart and looked at the illuminated display panel to see if there is a film or cover or something that I have to scrape off. I attempt that, but the only thing I can remove is some rubber glue stuff. So, I am at a brick wall with that also. Hoping tonight, I can see for certain how everything looks in the dark, and maybe it's just daylight really changes how bright it looks.

So, I am making progress assuredly, there are just hurdles I gotta cross and figure out before I get to anybody elses parts. The HVAC and headlight switch I always knew were going to be a problem, but I thought it was just going to be in the electrical/soldering side of things.

So, wish me luck and hopefully I will be having some good news and good pictures to share with everybody

Can always make it out on your journey to Colorado house hunting if your taking your car . Electrical is one of the only good things that I'm good at dealing with...as long as you understand how electricity flows, it helps you to understand alot, such as hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, etc... It's one of those strange sort of things that once you learn/know it similar things are far easier to deal with. Sort of like learning Spanish and being able to understand some italian...completely 2 diff languages, but alot of similarities

I have honestly never messed around with installing a remote starter....I've heard more negative things about positive things about them that I never had the ambition to install one. I'm sure I could do it....how long it would take me is another story since I haven't done it before.

The Oracle lead doesn't appear to have panned out because it does not seem that they deal in solder on type LED's...only plug in bulb style. I just got done doing some pricing on eBay for the complete deal, and it looks like the cheapest I can find on eBay totals out to just under $25.00. Keep in mind that is the cheapest...so, you get what you pay for... Sometimes you luck out sometimes you don't. I just went through some hair pulling last night to only discover I had some bad LED's in my bag I bought. So, that was about 2 hours of frustration to figure out what was going on, just to find that.

Headlight switch so far....have to figure out a way to easily get to the foglight button, and then to even out the color. I somewhat personally like the dimmer switch very bright on bottom to barely visible on top....sorta fits IMO....but I'm sure other people would disagree

Added LED light to the hazard switch....far brighter, but most hazard switches in cars stand out brighter than all the rest of the buttons...so it seems fitting that it should be the same with this.

Yet another update....trying to do my best to keep everybody in the loop. I just ordered 3 bulbs from Oznium.com for my HVAC to see if they do the trick for illuminating everything right and good. From, the research I have done, this has been the go to place for people that have been doing exactly this. For the 3 bulbs priority shipped I spent just a little over $15. The bulbs are pre-wired with the resistors and everything ready to go. I should be receiving these in about 3 days or so...so, hopefully these will do the trick. They are, like I said a little pricy, but for the small amount that will be needed to just do the HVAC, I still think it's worth it.

While posting this I wanted to try to do a breakdown of parts, to let everybody know what they would need, and they can start pricing things themselves if they so wish. So, here goes:

Driver and Passenger rear door switches-(2) LED or SMD bulbs...(1) bulb for each door
Passenger side front door switches-(2) LED or SMD bulbs
Driver side front door switches-(5) LED or SMD plus (1) SMD....(Power Mirror controls must be SMD for clearance issues)
Center console shifter-(1) #74 bulb.....(Unless you send me your whole shifter assembly I can't really do much for you except explain to you what you have to do to install it and look right)
ESP/Rear Wiper/Hazard switches-(4) LED bulbs...(I tried my SMD bulbs, but they just did not seem too bright to me compared to the LED...mainly because of the distance from board to face)
Steering Wheel Controls-(2) SMD bulbs....(must use SMD for clearance issues)

*HVAC, (non dual climate)-(2) LED bulbs plus (3) additional LED bulbs that may from Oznium.com
*Headlight switch-(3) LED bulbs plus (1) additional LED bulb for foglight switch....(may or may not need to purchase from Oznium.com as well. I used "standard" bulbs myself and am content with the results at this time, however some people may or may not like it...so that is solely your call.)

Other items such as dual zone climate control, heated seats, sunroof, homelink, radio...I have not done myself, so I do not know what bulbs/how many they require. However, if you have the time, I would have no problem tackling them...the radio I have talked to AZswag about doing his, so that maybe the demo and we can go from there....otherwise I will have to try to dig mine out of storage whenever I make the trip to where it is.

Here is the link to the Oznium.com site that has the bulbs I am referring to for the HVAC and Headlight switches...... 12V LED - Pre-wired Waterproof SuperFlux LEDs

Depending on which route you take...should not cost you more than $40-50 for parts, (depending on where you purchase)....which in a previous update I posted $25...however the price for the Oznium.com bulbs I am trying out obviously changes pricing. Still, a far cheaper cry than what anybody out there would be charging you to do at a shop.

Also, when doing your pricing, do not forget to include Solder, 40watt Soldering Gun tip replacement, and 560 Ohm 1/2watt 5% tolerance resistors if you choose to stay with regular LED's instead of the Oznium.com pre-wired bulbs.

I hope this covers some empty spaces that I may not have touched up on in the past. I have just been kinda out of it lately from work that I pretty much sleep the day away and still wake up and go to work tired. If things go to plan I should be able to start taking parts in by next week. I have a complete eBay price sheet written up on parts along with the eBay sellers names so if you are interested in purchasing the bulk of your parts that way please contact me and I will get you that info, so at least that step is pretty much covered. Also, if anybody is interested in sending me they're parts minus the HVAC/Headlight switch now I could start tackling them also...as long as you have all the bulbs/supplies needed to send along with everything. Then you could send me the HVAC/Headlight switch at a later time once I discover for sure how well these Oznium.com bulbs work out.

Oh, I'm also going to throw this out there.... If anybody has spare switches/parts laying around that would be willing to donate them as temporary spares for members who want this done, but cannot really afford to have they're daily driver without certain parts contact me please. I could more than likely cover shipping costs...unless you are getting something done by me then just send with your parts. I honestly think it's a long shot, however if I go out and start buying spare switches and everything, then I will sadly have to start charging members to offset the costs that I would be having to deal with.

I'll continue to do my best to keep everybody posted... hopefully everybody understands that this is a first attempt for me, so there are bound to be trial and error periods that I will encounter with trying to get everything worked out.
