thanks for the compliments guys. It's been pretty fun messing with this. I still have a lot to go and will take plenty more hours to finish, but...that's what we gotta do right?
I still need to make a custom bezel to fit down and around the shifter. That way I can get a rubber shift boot (like a B&M shifter boot) and have a gloss black "bucket" of sorts around it. Once I figure that out I'm going to fill in the keyhole around where the original ignition went and glass that panel black to match the others.

Looks great so far. I love the quick removal notch you added.
Can't wait to see the final product.

So I finally got the the painting part! After sanding and making sure all the primer filler was smooth I let that dry and cure. This weekend I logged a few hours of painting and sitting, and sanding and painting...then sitting some more...Then leaving it alone for a bit to go look at other future mods inside the car. And then putting on a final coat that I was happy with. Tonight I been doing this:
I went to O'Reilys and got some more PXR Brilliant Black and color matched these two pieces to my car. Then put on gobs n gobs of clear coat. It looks all nice and shiny now! I just need to wait a few days and then I'll buff that sh!t down!
I picked a spot for the hvac controls and will be wiring them up into the sunglasses holder this weekend. Then I plan to do the same process as here for that bezel and color matchng it. Then it's onto....forget it, I'm already too tired to go on![]()

OK! Clear coat is all dry and buffed down. I wasn't able to get it smooth like glass, but I don't care...it looks good I think. Besides, once it is installed you can't tell (already checked). So I ended up color matching the ashtray bezel which came out nicely:
I bought a suede shift boot from Ebay for a Honda Civic which cost $5 free shipping. It came two days later, which was super fast! I love how it looks! That's far better than the rubber one I was looking at:
Test fit the radio bezel after drilling out the hole for my LED (it lights up when my LED's and Halo Rings are off), fits nicely!
This is with the car in nuetral:
And in park. The shifter fits well, it doesn't hit anything. That is something I really didn't look into while doing all of this, so I got lucky:
Here you can see how glossy the paint turned out. It actually shows a blemish at the top left, but it's not visible in person. Well, it looks like a blemish, it's actually reflection from using the flash inside the car. I promise it looks good in person!
Next on the agenda is the sunglasses holder! I have to take that back off, gut the hole for the hvac controls, bondo, fit, sand, paint, etc etc. Then I have to run all the wires which I did not do this weekend. Nothing like cutting it close! The Power Tour is less than two weeks away and I still have to make the exhaust. Stay tuned!

Crap, I forgot...I still have to fill the ignition hole and smooth that down to color match! Well, that shouldn't be too hard.
