Yes, you are special, if you look close when you get home, the aluminum is thicker at the bottom and the wood is the same thickness where it meets the aluminum at the bottom.
And as far as Cocobolo being available, it might be just a bit expensive to do your floor with....I think it runs somewhere between $40.00 and $80.00 a board ft....You might check into any wood in the rosewood family, there are some imatations out there that might work for you at your local flooring (carpet) store....
