HID flickering fix.

If your HIDs flicker this is the capacitor (radio shack) you need to put on the relay switch:

If you don't have HIDs and want some that won't flicker, buy them from LIGHTING623 on E-bay, they work with our Magnums, get 5000k, they are brighter and cause less glare than higher K, I also recommend you get projector headlights to run your HIDs (better light cutoff pattern, see for yourself in my sig link)

I know this thread has been sitting for two months but I just found it now.

I have an sxt magnum and I was wondering where I would find the relay switch that I need to place the capacitor on?

No, I meant how do I know which relay switch I have to put the capacitor on.

I have the capacitor already, I'm just not sure which relay is for the headlights.

Relay that came with the HID kit, if you didn't get one with the kit you have to get a universal wiring harness, can get it from here: Xenonrider.com - Automotive Xenon & Bi-Xenon HID (High Intensity Discharge) Headlight Conversion Kits for Cars & Motorcycles Xenon rider

Thanks Mag RT.

I misunderstood then.

What I have is the xenon hyperwhite replacement bulbs, not an hid kit.

But they do flicker every now and then which is why I asked.

Would the same capacitor work if I just placed it directly into the bulb socket?

Those are not HID's, they're just cheap painted bulbs, HID flicker will act like a strobe light, if your 55w bulbs flicker once in a while, use quality bulbs, like sylvania ST's!
This is an HID thread.

MY357 is just warmin' up!
Last night I noticed when I was driving down a highway, I turned on my brights then turned the fan on full blast and the headlights flickered for a few secs it was pretty odd...I did this a couple times and was just wondering if the charging system wasnt reacting fast enough..

You see most cheap HID kits (ie ebay hids) use a rebased HID bulb to save money, the most common bulb is a D2S which they modify to fit any light (ie: 9006) the D2S was not designed for a reflector and is wide open. Reflectors have facets that reflect light onto the road. If you use a rebased bulb like a D2S the element (referred to the filament in the halogen application) is moved forward several mm which causes the angle that the light hits the facets to change and thus throws light everywhere and into the faces of oncoming traffic.

With our kits the bulbs geometry is an exact replica of the 9006XS so the element is exactly where the filament is positioned in relation to the
reflector therefore performs as intended. The light is focused on the road where intended but just brighter.

Dont take my word for it, here is a Charger output example with our 6000K HID Kit:

Notice the light is focused and aimed 100% under the field of vision of any other drivers.

The light is properly focused, just amplified.
