It's not about being able to edit your own post. We all have that capability.
It's about the unethical practice as a vending moderator to edit others posts when they don't agree with what is said.
I'd much rather see the thread get closed down than censored just because of a differing opinion.
Is this what you said, or did I edit it? Very easy to do. And I'm not a modderator. I didn't add anything, only removed some of the words.
4rwheeler.....................Change that quote before someone reads it and thinks I WROTE IT. Yes, you did take out some of MY words and the quote as it stands makes me sound not to nice.......i went back to see what you took out.......And yes, you took out stuff of MINE........Neat trick, but now that we know? Please delete the QUOTE.....? RD
thats shady as all heck, if he's sellin a product ppl actually want and in a PROFESSIONAL manner.... no problems would arise.... ok, a few would, but not in every stinkin thread...
Guys, please understand that the ability to moderate and edit/delete threads and edit/delete posts is not a bad thing. Yes, it is a power that can be abused. But honestly in most cases there is no reason. I wont name names, but this power has been abused on LXforums a lot by vendors that get a lot of heat for customer service issues who delete threads and posts for damage control.
Honestly as much as you try and avoid it, there will always be something that comes up as much and its how you handle it that speaks about your integrity. We made a mistake on LXforums with the half cover group buy. I typically post every sale, announce every product, group buy, etc. However, George happened to start the Hemi Half Cover reserve list and he included shipping (something we rarely ever do). Well weeks went by and hundreds of posts past and when it came time to invoice people and everyone was asking how much shipping would be it never occured to either of us that we had offered free shipping, although we had already collected payment and shipped 10 sets of covers. I created a post in the thread immediately and to inform everyone of the mishap and we refunded everyones shipping cost within 12hrs. Live and learn. Lesson of the story: communication is key.
I think all of us get the flavor of how this vendor does business, and his reputation is now speaking for itself. Thats why I've let this issue ride.....he has the shovel.
I just feel that we have all gotten out our frustrations about this vendor and now need to just let him make his decisions on how he is going change the way he treats fellow forum members/potential customers. Just IMO.
Like I told him in a PM, he MIGHT have a great product that some of us have been longing for BUT it was introduced to us way too early, since he is still experimenting with it and does not have ALL the answers. I also understand that he might have been busy with other things and could not been on 24/7 to reply to all questions. I'm not justifying what happened, but I think all of us that felt shafted got our frustration out and IMO its time to let it go. We've had many many shady people pay to get vendor status just to be taken seriously ie. the 300 conversion guy that bought $250K worth of parts and wanted to sell it here for dirt cheap, he's gone, the idiot with the eBay vert kits..he's gone. But this guy, SSXTMag, he tried to stick through the issues, but got overwhelmed. Maybe if we just let it go for a while and see if he comes back with more refined business/communication skills and ALL the answers that we need to take him and what he's offering seriously. Or maybe I give to much benefit of the doubt to people.....idk fellas, either way....
