Rumor?? Chrysler to wear a bowtie??
I don't expect much to come of this since this kind of rumor is always floating around, but anything is possible in today's market. Apparently, Cerberus is already considering unloading Chrysler through a trade with GM. Talk about throwing brand loyalty out the window!!

yeeahh, what is this world comming to??? Thats BS....First The "American Beer" Budwiser sells out to an overseas company....now Chrysler merging with GM, id like to see how they keep the image.....well least its still an American company!

Talks were before the "meltdown" who knows what's going on now. GM is having a tough enough time as it is.

The last that I heard on this was that it could be good for both GM and Cerberus, but the ROI (return on investment) would be too long for it to work right now. Plus, even if GM traded the remainder of GMAC straight up for Chrysler, GM would need a lot of money to fully integrate Chrysler in to the GM organization which would be required to realize any true cost savings.
