OK here's a question that comes up alot, "how do I post pictures on / in a thread?". Hopefully this will help answer that question....
--------
You can post a simple "attached" picture by going to the advanced post screen ("Go Advanced" button) and selecting Manage Attachments in the Additional Options section of the screen. A new window will pop up where you will Browse to look on your PC for a file, double click on the file then select Upload. Then Submit your post.
-------
Here's another way, and using this method you can insert a large pic right on your post (like below). To do this you need to use an image hosting website and for this example we will use Photobucket. Just go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and register, then you can start uploading photos like this:
On the "My Album" screen you will do a similar method as above... first "browse"
Then select a file from somewhere on your PC and double click on it
It will then populate one of the "spots" on the upload screen where you can name it, then select UPLOAD.
Once uploaded your photos will be displayed below. To insert a photo onto your post, first highlight - then "copy" the IMG Code
Then "paste" into your message, and hit "Submit Reply"
Easy/better way, and can post as many pics as you want with photobucket is to check/mark the boxes of the pics you want to transfer, then click "generate HTML and IMG code", left click in the third box to highlight everything, then right click and copy, go to the post reply box in the forum, place cursor where you want the pics to be, then right click and paste.
A lot of good information here about posting photos and I appreciate it all.
Being a novice at digital photos, I have a question:
How do I get the photos from my camera into my computer or into Photobucket?
On my old digital camera (.5 Megapixel) it uses a floppy disk and I can get photos from the "A" drive into my computer and into Photobucket okay.
But my new Canon camera uses a SanDisk and is a 6 megapixel camera and of course takes better photos. My computer does not have a card reader, but my HP photo printer does. Do I need to buy a card reader for my computer, or can I use the card reader on my HP photo printer? My camera did come with a USB cable, but I would rather not use it.
If I do install a card reader on my computer, will it have a drive designation, like "A", or "F", "G" ?????? That would make it easier for using Photobucket when it says BROWSE, I could point it to the card reader.
Did'nt your new camera give directions on uploading your photos?
And why would you not want to use the USB? I would think that would be the easiest route to go with.
If you go with the reader install then I would think that it would be plug and play (maybe using a USB input). Usually it will define itself and you would have to do nothing but click and or drag.
Use the USB cable Bob ....it's the way to go! Once connected turn on the camera in "view" mode and your computer will see it as a drive (like E drive, removable storage device). Any card reader you buy will be USB anyway, so save $$ and use your camera as a card reader

I was able to figure it all out, I am able to insert my SanDisk card into my photo printer that has all the card slots. I could use the USB cable, but I like using the slots in my photo printer.
Either way would work, just glad I figured it out.
Now I can stop using my old digital camera that was only .5 megapixel and uses a floppy disk. Can now use my new Canon 6 pixel camers!
