In 1968 when Chevy 1st introduced the Z/28 Camaro with the 302 cubic inch engine, for insurance purposes, was rated at 290 Horsepower.
1. Does anyone know what the real horse power really was?
2. Does anyone know what the "redline" shifting RPM was, stock?
(This was with the single four barrel carb; later an crossram 2-4 barrell carb was available)

I'll take a shot at a couple of these...
The 302 c.i. displacement, while it may have had an effect on insurance, was primarily designed to meet the restrictions put in place by the organizers of Trans-Am racing, which restricted engine displacement to 305 cubic inches.
All Z-28s were delivered with single 4 barrel carbs. If a buyer checked off the optional cross ram intake on the build sheet, the manifold was delivered in the trunk of the car, for installation by the end user.

Please, don't Oooo and Ahhh over my apparent encyclopedic automotive knowledge just yet... the information I provided was the result if having just watched (yesterday) a television program on Velocity, dedicated to all things Camaro.

In 1987 Buick made over 23,000 Grand Nationals....
What was their ultimate version of this car?
How many were made?
What was different about them over a GN?

In 1969, all Chrysler Corp. passenger vehciles were in direct violation of federal law. What was the violation?
Gnx. It was developed with help from McClaren had a garret turbo and intercooler, had a ladder bar suspension that anchors to the center of the car.... And I want to say 300 but not 100% sure on production #s
I am much better versed in the oldsmobile counterparts
