Since I just got done reading this book, here's one:

What is the fastest time driving from coast to coast? Who did it? and What kind of car was he driving?

I know that the original was "cannonball" baker 53.5 hours. In the 30s I think it was broken by Cale Yarbrough in the 70's and it was only like an hour shorter.... I would have to look up the official time and cars....

Oh man...there's too many questions and they're being left behind.

Let's do this...He who answers the question must then ask another. The person who asks the question must know the answer (or think they are correct), and then confirm the answer. If someone gets the answer wrong, the person who answers right gets to go next.

I'd like this to be ongoing, I'm sure it's been done here before...but lets make a good run of this. I love car trivia!

Gnx. It was developed with help from McClaren had a garret turbo and intercooler, had a ladder bar suspension that anchors to the center of the car.... And I want to say 300 but not 100% sure on production #s

GNX is correct.

they made 547 and had special vin numbers along with a wooden dash plaque showing the number produced.

major changes were: better turbo and intercooler neck. ceramec inlet pipe. reconfigured trans and torque converter. ladder bar and pan hard rod on the rear end. special diff cover for the pan hard rod. vr speed rated tires and 16" rims. widened fender flares and functional louvers on front fenders. eeprom was reworked. there were a few others, but minor.

We gotta answer this one first...

This is on the tip of my tongue. I think it was in the early teens and the car had four electric motors on it, one for each wheel...but I don't remember that being a hybrid, just all electric made by Tesla...I think.

The first hybrid was started in 1900 and finished developing in 1901,
the Last year of production was in 1905.
It was built by Ferdinand Porsche. The vehicle was called. Lohner-Porsche

you talking about the SVO turbo 4 cylinder mustangs? that had, I think, 175hp????

That would be absolutely and definately not incorrect!!!
Yes, The SVO was introduced in 1984 with a turbo charged 4 cylinder at a claimed 175 hp. The distinct difference was obviously the turbo.

When i was 16 Dad bought one that had a completely shot engine and was missing many parts including the turbo. He paid $250 for the car and we took the engine block out and scrapped it for metal. Any how, It was my very first car. We ended up putting a 5.0 in it in the long run but it was a great car. Ill try and find a pic of it so i can post it.

yeah post! I love the svo stangs. I knew a guy back home with one and it ran 11's. They were pretty rare cars. Rarety is my specialty lol
