I asked the shop where I had my headers and exhaust done at about the power difference between a high flow cat and a mid pipe, and if it was worth purchasing. He said I won't notice the difference between the two and that most new cars are already equipped with high flow cats, and that my mag had one. Any truth about any of this?
I'm in the process of installing a full Borla exhaust, you might want to give them a call, they were very helpful. You can get their contact info at www.borla.com
Hope this helps!!
I have the high flow Cat on my Mag. Stock with purchase. I was going to change it out and found out what your asking. Therefore, I kept the Cat, removed the resonator and upgraded the pipes from the Cat to the rear.
I have heard from several different guys that they got the biggest performance increase from adding the high flow cats. The stock pipes are very restrictive around the cats.
Stock
High Flow - much smoother bends, without the restrictions around the sensors.
They will be one of my next mods....
I have heard the same. My performance increased by upping the pipe size and reducing the restriction all the way to the end. All this with keeping the stock Cat on the car.
well if we are still talking about the six...3.5 ..my exhaust guy wont even let me put a exhaust on it..a 6 is going to sound like a 6 no matter what you do....now if you want performance
cut out the first long muffler afer the cat..straight pipe off of that..i have been running with that into my stock exhaust and ive gotten a little pop..a little throatiness to the sound..and most importantly a little more pep no that all that restrition is gone..
if you have a sixIMO dont wast your money with a dual exhasut setup..its just that a set up..it doesn't increase your perfformance..jamming air in that puppy will..cold air kit..cut out the exhaust
i ill put a magnaflow on the back end..seems to be the best sound for a 6..flow masters sound like crap on a 6
