Tranny Issue

Hi everybody,

I need some help my 07 Mag with 21000 miles seems to be having an issue with the tranny. When the car down shifts to first i really feel it grab and jerk. That is the only gear that has the issue in auto or manual mode. Then when the car is auto mode it seems to shift alot more then i would think is required. Any ideas on what it might be. It is going to the dealer on thursday, and i want to know what i might be able to suggest.

Hope U have warranty and or have the trans fluid checked!!!!!

Check the fluid levels. If that is good, you may have to get a flush to make sure you are not doing any damage to the tranny or torque converter.

It's a 5 speed with a lock up TC. It's going to seem shift a lot in auto mode if you aren't used to the car. How long have you been driving it?

As far as "When the car down shifts to first i really feel it grab and jerk"... what speed are you downshifting into first at?

Also, you need to run it a bit for the adaptive TCM to "learn" your driving style. These cars adapt the fuel and transmission to the driver.

Also, there maybe a TSB on the transmission, or you might be able to get them to flash the SRT TSB on warranty.

If it is still under warranty, it can't hurt to bring it in.....

Mine does the same thing, but it doesnt do it all the time, it kinda makes you wonder if the brakes are locking up or the tranny is shifting hard, i am too lazy to take mine in right now, i got plenty of time to do it later... keep us posted as to what the dealer says.

Thanks guys, the dealer went ahead and flashed the tranny.That seemed to have worked so far. The dealer told me that one of reasons i might be having an issue is cause of my 20s on the car. Funny how he would say that when a 300 rollin on 24s was there. They also tried to void the warrenty cause of the wheels, jerks. Why should they care its free money and then maybe should stop selling those two chargers with 24s.
