could the ram air i have hurt my mileage ??
seems like before i was getting 25 to 26 in interstate now 22 is all i get ,,i have change the plugs at 35,000 i have 36,000 now anyone got any idea?
what i done was remove the ear drum and runa 4" tube from the box to the front and blocked the bottom part ,, i have done a reset fuse 11 too
Let's see some pics. Some of the ram air hoods hurt the coefficient of drag a little at highway speeds. If you are running the stock hood then your new air plumbing could be affecting the air/fuel mixture or invoking some timing changes that could impact your mileage.
Mine seemed to help but I have ram air from the top side ... the hood.... I also tried sealing the top but I left the bottom of the airbox still vented. I live in Pittsburgh and with all these hills... the best I have gotten is 24.. and thats with the ram air
It is possible that the engine management system is running a bit of a richer air to fuel ratio do to the cooler air "thinks its cold" ..
Might also be the driver i know when i first modded my air intake i was having fun with the skinny pedal..
i did fuse 11 right after i done it,, i think it might like you guys said the eng thinks it cooler air and adding more fuel,, i might change itb back and pull fuse 11 and see that way to compare
