another exhaust question

this is proly as newb question but here we go. i got a 2005 mag r/t hemi and like to out an exhaust on it. i opt for a cat back system but im alittle low on cash at the moment. i went to dodge and ask them if i could jux put in a magnaflow muffler in (just for the sound)and they said i couldn't cuz of the "back pressure" issue. i ask them to explain the reason and them couldn't. i really want a cat/back sys but for now jux the muffler will have to do. is this a good idea? ur input is appreciated. thanks guy..............

congrats on the r/t...couple things here..first..the dealers arent keen and generally wont do anything outside of the book..thats thier policies..so asking them for any upgrades like that forget about it...

find a reputable or rec muffler shop around where you live..dont go to midas or anything like that..

when you go there they will tell you a couple things if they arent seeing new guy who knows noting about cars...they will say..magnaflows area waste of time for an r/t...and if you dont have the dough..there is a huge collector in the fornt that we can cut out..and let you run on your stock muffler to see how it performs for you..it will open it up tremendously...

save your dough..do it right..

How much are you able to spend on a catback? there's a couple out there for descent prices...Check out this page from HHP, will give you an idea on prices for new systems, also look around on the other forums and see if members are saleing their systems...I got my first catback system off a member for 300.00 and it was a 600.00 system brand new.

Yeah I bought one of those resonator eliminators from Blastin' Bob for my 3.5 V6 and I love the sound and it was simple to install.

Hey Weezy, I found this on EBay, Blastin Bob's 300 Magnum Charger V-6 Dual exhaust kit. Is this the item you put on your Mag?

Varshaska, yeah its the same thing except I ordered just one side from BB b/c I didn't want to cut the bumper. It sounds and looks great and it was a super quick and easy install. Great Product. The wife even likes the sound of it.
