I popped my cherry today!!
I just got back from the garage where I installed my first "MOD" to my mag. 1 Hour and the quiet Mini-van sounding exhaust was replaced with the Magnaflow cat-back. Ooooooo, She sounds sweet. But word of advice for the do it your self types, I ran into a problem.
I got everything on, and torqued it down, then took it out for a spin. Well, I was excited and rushed a bit to put it on, and didn't support the manifold when I tightened everything down. HENCE, it was resting on the cross-member for the sub frame, sounded alright at idle, and parked rev'n. But once I took it up past 60, NASTY resonance, more like direct engine vibration. To put it lightly, it was UNBEARABLE. So I turned around, and went back and jacked it back up. Got a tall jack, and supported the manifold about 3 inches above the cross-member, loosened the bolts, and beat the ever living hell out of the pipes and clamp areas with a rubber mallet. re-torqued, and everything is GOLDEN NOW. It rests about an inch or so above it. Took her out on the interstate to stretch the legs, and got quite a few stares, as my monster rumbled by the more conservative types. It's dangerous, I don't even relize when I break 90, feels like 55. (Sammy Hagar just poped into my head, AHHHHHHH)
Tomorrow the low temp Stat and Dub Air Intake go on. Next week the Diablo Revolver 22's (If they freakin ship them already) And the flash programer when I get the means to aquire it. All that, and if the cans of VCT Nightshade ever show up, I have quite a few people interested in the lens treatment, from the info I showed them on here.
