CLEAN YOUR THROTTLEBODIES!
I decided to do some much needed maitenance on the maggie today. I changed the oil, then cleaned the K&N, then decided to clean the throttlebody. I used a can of the Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner Part # 04318001AB. Man this stuff is great! My 3.5 has pulled this hard since i first bought it. It feels like a whole different car! I can only imagine how hard it would pull without the 24s on!
What i did first was remove the TB and spray the front and back of the butterfly with the CCC. Let it soak for a few seconds, then start cleaning it off with a rag. Make sure you open the butterfly and get every speck of gunk out of there. then i took another clean rag and soaked it in some CCC and cleaned as far into the intake plenum as i could reach. Once everything was back together, I cranked her up and let it run up to operating temp. With the CAI removed spray the remainder of the can into the TB while running. Once empty cut the car off and let it set for 30 minutes. Go grab a drink and a bite to eat(optional). Then come back out and crank her up and let it run for a bit. While running rev it up and enjoy the blue smoke show. The smoke lets you know its working. Then lastly put your air intake on and take her for a drive to enjoy your restored performance.![]()

TB huh?? I have a box right next me with a nice new poilshed TB sitting in it ....I know what im doing tomorrow =)
Good lookin out homie, I can only imagine what mine is gonna look like....
gonna do mine tuesday on my day off~where did you buy the cleaner?
For the Vette, spraying a can of Amsoil Power Foam (Places like NAPA sell Amsoil) even every couple months makes a positive difference (cleaning the TB butterfly thoroughly, then using the rest of the entire can down the intake with the engine running [as noted by 357]). It is the first thing I do to any vehicle I get. It helped the Magnum a noticed amount as well, but the Vette gets particularly dirty, and it seems the Magnum may as well without the catch can.

just be sure not to spray too much at once and stall the engine. its possible to hydrolock the motor. what i did was spray it in bursts until the can was empty.

Just have the throttle held around 2k RPM and you should be able to spray it constant (and it could always be revved a bit by whomever is in the seat if it starts to bog down...the Mag is the first I've owned that can't be held from a throttle cable).
Otherwise, I found Power Foam to be the best for carbs, and carried that over to FI vehicles.

very similiar results after cleaning the TB with Mopar TB Cleaner. installed oil catch can afterwards thanks to the advice of many of the performance minded customermagnum folks here and am very satisfied. also i sure many of u guys are running ur plugs longer than Dodge specs. owners manual says 33,000 on our factory plugs....the performance section of this website is my favorite thks to all that help maggie run her best!
